Copyright to all the banknotes lies with the respective issuing banks and/or authorities and should not be downloaded or used/ misused in any manner whatsoever. Every banknote on this site is from the personal collection of Rukmini Dahanukar and has been originally scanned specifically for use on the site.

The purpose is purely educational and research driven and all the banknotes have been scanned for the same. No modification or alteration has been done to any of the original notes except digitally applying brightness, colour or contrast filters purely for image clarity. 

In the collection section, titles for the same have been superimposed on some notes just for the purpose of aesthetics and without any prejudice. These have been designed purely for representational purposes only and are original artworks created by Rukmini Dahanukar representing her design firm, Nirmiti and cannot be downloaded or used without permission. 

 

Utmost care has also been taken wherever possible that both the obverse and reverse sides of the same note; especially the ones in current circulation; have not been uploaded to the site keeping in mind the sensitivity of these artifacts. Being the founder partner of a brand design consulting firm for over 25 years now, Rukmini Dahanukar is well aware of design and artwork- originality, ownership and  copyrights.
